Analysis of question four answers
How do you feel about your present job?
a. I’m good at it and I enjoy the respect it brings
If you’re moving or being posted overseas as a career step this is probably the right attitude. If you’re heading overseas to find work you may find that as a foreigner all the respect you used to enjoy will disappear.
b. It’s crap, the same as every other job I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to move on
Working in a different country isn’t necessarily an improvement, although a crap job in the sun may be better than a crap job in the rain.
c. I’ve got lots of friends at work, but I’ve probably gone as far as I can
If you feel stale and in need of a change there are challenges abroad. Beware though, it can be difficult to return and pick up where you left off.
d. Job? What job?
Maybe you’ve got nothing to lose, but what are you hoping to find abroad?
